Your workspace guide.
From creating an account to downloading a tested result.
Run your first task
- Create an account or sign in. New accounts receive 3 free task credits.
- Open New task and describe a small, concrete change. For example: “Write a Python palindrome checker, add unittest coverage, run the tests, and save a README.”
- Choose an empty workspace or a saved GitHub workspace, then click the arrow to run.
- Open Activity to follow actual commands and outputs.
- When the task completes, read its result, inspect the Files tab, and download the ZIP archive.
Workspaces and repositories
A workspace saves a name and an optional public GitHub repository URL. Each task starts with a fresh clone, or an empty environment. Task results are stored separately; later tasks do not automatically apply earlier results. Download and merge changes in your own repository. Archive workspaces you no longer need and restore them later.
Reusable automations
Save a name, instructions, workspace, and schedule. Manual automations run when you press Run now. Active subscribers can schedule daily or weekly runs. The hourly scheduler dispatches due tasks subject to available credits and capacity. Pause an automation to prevent new runs.
Task limits
| Boundary | Limit |
|---|---|
| Task execution | Up to 3 minutes; 8 agent steps |
| Shell command | Up to 25 seconds per command |
| Concurrent tasks | 1 per account |
| Daily task requests | 20 per account; platform capacity also applies |
| Saved deliverables | Up to 150 text files, 100 KB per file, 1 MB total |
| Repositories | Public GitHub repositories |
Large binary files, dependency folders, Git internals, and environment files are excluded from downloads. A task result can contain code that still needs human review. Failed or cancelled tasks return their task credit.
Subscriptions and credits
Six monthly plans provide the credit amounts shown on the pricing page. Credits renew after a verified paid invoice and unused credits carry forward. Use Plans & usage to inspect your balance and access the billing portal when paid billing is enabled. OpenAstra never credits a task balance based only on a browser return URL.
Troubleshooting
If a task fails, inspect Activity for context, reduce the scope, and retry. A failed task’s credit is returned. Use Forgot password on the sign-in page if needed. Contact support with the task identifier and a description of the issue; do not include secrets.
